The map below shows the sites and data used in McClymont, Ho et al. (2023) (Reviews in Geophysics) to synthesise ocean temperatures and ice-volume indicators through the late Pliocene and early Pleistocene (from 3.3 to 2.4 Ma) and over the “intensification of Northern Hemisphere Glaciation” (iNHG) as part of the PlioVAR project. Clicking on sites in the map below will provide further information on data in the synthesis. Details on site inclusion and age model requirements are outlined in McClymont, Ho et al. (2023) (Reviews in Geophysics).
Datasets with a 🥇 symbol contain full sample ID information (e.g., Site, Hole, Core, mbsf depth etc). Efforts are ongoing to obtain this information for sites/proxies where this data is currently absent.
In addition to site/proxy specific data which can be accessed via the map below, the following links allow data to be downloaded for all sites and for each proxy (δ18Obenthic, δ18Oplanktonic, Mg/Ca SST, TEX86 SST and UK37 SST). Alternatively, the data can be downloaded from Pangaea.
